Absolutely lovely place, big portions, very tasty and extremely nice staff. Would recommend highly recommend it
Delicious ramen with additional rice meal with only 300 y ++ for those with big appetite like me. Contains pork for those looking for halal food. And they have english menu!
Ramen Bonten is one of the few restaurants still open after 6pm in Nikko. Be prepared to put your name down on the waiting list for that exact reason. The corn and butter in my ramen were a welcome change. I’ve had better but the bowl achieved its purpose in warming my stomach given our limited dinner options.
The spicy ramen is the best!
Verygood noodle and fried chicken ,,, sapporo classic it the best beer.
Great, affordable ramen! Also one of the only places open after 7pm.
Ramen was good, broth was good, prices were good, English menu provided, but one thing completely turned around my experience. They put pig fat bits into the soup! They never told me. To some people it might be good, for me, I don't like pig fat and I had to ask for a spoon to scoop all of it out.
Extremely nice meal at an affordable price. Light broth but filling and then meal set is a great deal
Blink and you will miss this pleasant ramen shop set a little way back from the main street through town. Your loss if you do, though, because this place is terrific! This is a no-nonsense ramen joint that will fill you up on a budget with jovial staff and toe-tapping music on in the background. The ramen is served in lovely ceramic bowls and you will get enough to feed a small army. Tasty and freshly prepared, this is the ramen of your dreams. Self-serve water. This place hosts backpackers in jeans and professionals in suits. Truly the sign of a magical place.
Nice place, friendly staff but not a great ramen
It provides a reasonablely good dinning experience in Nikko. Might be in a queue for a seat.
Nice typical ramen restaurant with friendly staff.
SO delicious! Just what we needed after a long travel to Nikko. We got the miso corn butter ramen, soy chicken corn butter and gyoza. So good and worth the money, broth was amazing!
Excellent food and good service by two people who owns the place . Would be back for the food
Taste is ok, price is acceptable.I ordered a bowl of chasyu-men noodle that has 4 pieces of meat in the menu, but she brought a bow with only 1 piece of meat. I asked her the reason, and she brought more 3 pieces. LOL!
A huge bowl of ramen goodness. Loved the extra thick noodles and flavorful broth.
Very tasty ramen but lacking spice
Came in for a late lunch. The menu options are pretty basic. Most of the ramen versions come with thick noodles which are not my favourite, so I chose the burnt soy sauce broth (with thin noodles) and asked for added egg. It’s not clear from the menu, but the ramen already comes with egg so the addition was unnecessary. The broth was pretty flat in flavour and there were bits of fat bobbing on the surface. The char-sieuw is also quite fatty. Gyōza was a bit bland. Price is decent, service is quick and friendly. Definitely not the best bowl of ramen I’ve ever had.
Ramen very big and delicious. Rice with roasted pork is good. Fried Wonton is good too.
Spicy leek ramen is both massive and amazing! And at 980Yen an absolute bargain.
The service and atmosphere were alright. The ramen's taste is not outstanding and the portion could be better (only 1 piece of chashu?) but at the price point I could not complainh. Gyoza was alright but the skin is a little thick. Overall, it's an affordable meal not too far from Tobu Nikko Station.
Try their spicy leek ramen, its very nice in cold weather! If still hungry, can try their gyoza as well!
Yummy! (28 June 2019)
Delicious ramens. We had salt and shoyu ramen which was very good with thick char siu pork. Fried rice was very yummy. Service was ok. Reasoanble price.
Preatty good.Should try
Great food, and reasonable pricing. However, it seems like it is a family run place and the service may be a little slower. Hence, do plan extra time.
Good ramen. Service is nice and quick. They have lunch combo super interesting (ramen + bowl of rice with something + gyoza). Good ratio price quality. Locals eat there.
Delicious ramen served with hospitality. And I forgot to take a photo.
Nice place, good taste, friendly staff.
Great ramen at a good price. I added dumplings for a low price and ended up with more food than I could eat. Service was attentive.
Tasty and reasonably priced
Excellent taste and the food is value for money. Great restaurant, the "Spicy Leek Miso Ramen" costing around 900 yen is really a good one.
A bowl of delicious bonten ramen i choose, with flat noodles, half of egg, a piece of pork inside. Combined with a plate of 5 pieces gyoza with mixed spicy sauce of vinegar sauce, soy sauce, chili oil and Nanami Togarashi. Make dinner completed. 👍👍
Great place to get yourself some hot ramen with reasonable price around the area, foods are delicious though some might be a little bit salty.
The purpose is not to plainly complain, more to motivate restaurants to put more efforts into their dishes. The price was not too cheap and the broth was a bit greasy and pretty flat. Except for ramen, onions and one slice of pork there was nothing else in the bowl, which could "spice up" the dish. So if you search for a not too expensive (Nikko Level) meal that fills you are right, if you search for speciality ramen, try another place. ;) Service was friendly and fast.
Nice place, it's very good to rest here after a long journey among the beautiful Shinto and Buddhist shrines. The meal is simple, but tasty!
Famous Nikkō Rāmen !Great place !
strolling around the city and decided to give a try for this restaurant. They serve a big portion of ramen. took the lunch combo rather than ordering 2 kinds of ramen. the place was nicely decorated and the aircon was a savior. no wifi in here.
Great but too much food
The best ramen place in the area even if you do not speak the language you can still order and the food is amazing they can accommodate for allergies a little harder if you do not speak the language but doable.
Excellent selection easy for foreigners to order and the ramen is delicious.
Friendly staff, good burnt soy sauce ramen. Kirin beer
They have english menus so it is easy to order. The ramen was good and you can add gyozas and rice as a side dish and have a taste of everything. The location is convenient, not far from nikko station.
One of the best ramen I've had in Japan, if not the second best. Very flavorful broth with just right amount of spiciness. Plenty of bamboo shoots and soy bean sprouts, plus the noodle, which sets it a bit apart from other places that only gives meager amount of veggies.
Delicious ramen.
Fantastic tasting ramen, with generous portions. Definitely must try and absolutely recommend
Here 3 of us had the best ramen during a 2 weeks stay in Japan. Really liked a lot of vegetables and not over-salted broth. Very attractively priced.
Decent value for money in a place that was open when everywhere else was closed on a Tuesday night. The very spicy ramen is true to its name! Gyoza are good too and beers are lovely and cold. Easy access from town.
Nice place to eat in the cold night after sightseeing in Nikko
Amazing Ramen place in Nikko. Huge serves for a decent price. Sides of pork rice bowl were also delicious. Some of the tables were the floor seating kind which was weird but definently and authentic experience, they didn't speak much English but they had English menus.
